The TOTO SW843 washlet toilet set is one of TOTO’s more popular models. Even though it has fewer reviews on Amazon.com, it is generally purchased more often due to the lower price tag than several others.

Built to provide maximum comfort for its user, the SW843 has several different options that many seats do not offer. When combined these features provide a level of luxury that you might expect in a fancy resort or hotel.

First, the washlet included shoots a stream of warm water to clean your posterior. Studies show that washlets are the most sanitary way to clean yourself because you do not have to risk bacteria getting on your hands.  Even though the idea of using a washlet is a bit strange for many, once they use it most people fall in love with it.

In addition to the rear wash, there is also a front wash available. This is most often used by women who are sexually active, menstruating, or pregnant. This allows the woman to quickly get that “clean and fresh” feeling without having to take a shower. 

The SW843 uses a heated water tank to hold the water that the seat has heated up. This is fairly standard for these types of seats, although some of the more expensive models now heat up the water as it travels through the seat. 

The water tank is adjustable which gives you the flexibility to have it hold warmer or cooler water. Even though most customers use it on the default setting, you can change it in the hotter or colder months to be a bit more comfortable.

Both the rear and front washes are adjustable. Some customers like the very strong setting to give them the cleanest feeling. Others prefer the softer, gentler settings that still do the job but not as quickly. It is largely a matter of preference, but again most customers tend to use the default, middle setting.

Unlike a lot of its competition, the SW843 toilet seat has a warm air dry feature. This allows you to dry yourself after using the wash without having to use toilet paper. This feature makes the SW843 more sanitary than a lot of its competition and will lead to larger cost savings over time. Like the wash and heat of the wash, the dry air stream is adjustable to preference.
